ARCING
[Film Technology]
The usual reasons for
moving the camera round a subject in a tight circle are [1] To correct the
composition with one subject is slightly masking
[obscuring] another e.g. in an over shoulder shot.
[2] To show the subject from different viewpoints,
e.g. the camera moves round a statue as various features are discussed; a
crafts man speaks to the camera, which then arcs around to show his hands at
work.
