The clarity of light patterns can be adjusted from an indecipherable blur, to sharp, strong, clear cut shapes that appear
as if painted on the background. Light and pigment are often so similar in their
effect, that can use or the other equally well to give the illusion of contour or to introduce surface
patterns. 1) Cast shadow. 2) Projected shadow. 3) Silhouetted
shadow.
