BUFFER
SOLUTION
[Film Technology]
The Ph of the solution can easily be raised by the
addition of a strong alkali such as sodium hydroxide. To maintain it as a steady value, however, it
is preferable to add larger quantities of a weak acid salt such as sodium carbonate, or borax.
These form a stable, buffered solution whose Ph
is first changed by the by-products of development.
