BUFFER SHOT

This is the dilemma of motion
pictures and television. If the sun shone when we shot the hero as he
greeted the heroine, and the sky was overcast as she replied, the two sequences with their differing brightness, contrasts
and colour temperatures will hardly conjoin.
Fortunately where even a short buffer shot of another subject intervenes, quiet
blatant variations can pass unnoticed, for this is no direct comparison of
light with like.
